Sweet confetti…

Confetti is Italian for sweets which in Italy are thrown over the couple as they emerge from the church in the same way as we use paper confetti. Raisins and nuts can also be used. For litter conscious couples you could ask guests to blow bubbles instead of throwing confetti. Supply them with little champagne shaped bottles of bubbles (available from Tesco in Wrexham). They look great in the photographs and don’t leave any mess.  Before confetti was used the married couple were showers with flowers, petals, rice or grains. This was to bestow prosperity and fertility on the couple.
